Earnings and Revenue Trajectory
AI Review
Recent financial results show steady top-line growth, with trailing revenue reaching twenty-nine billion dollars and net income rising to nine point three billion dollars. Operating earnings benefit from steady population growth in Florida and expanding renewable energy contracts. However, accounting net income is flattered by non-cash investment gains and energy hedging adjustments. The critical distinction lies in cash conversion. Because heavy construction absorbs billions, trailing free cash flow remains deeply negative at ten point two billion dollars. Core operating earnings are growing predictably at eight percent, but funding future growth requires constant external financing rather than internally generated cash.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
Profitability remains exceptionally strong, with gross margins near sixty-three percent and operating margins steady at thirty percent. The regulated Florida utility keeps operating costs per customer well below industry averages, while automatic fuel-clause adjustments protect margins from volatile natural gas prices. Long-term commercial contracts include inflation escalation clauses that defend developer margins against rising equipment costs. However, rising interest expense below the operating line and mandated customer bill credits in pending mergers will cap net profit margin expansion, keeping returns steady rather than explosive.
