Earnings and Revenue Trajectory
AI Review
Reported financial results present a striking contrast between headline accounting deficits and resilient operational cash production. For fiscal 2025, revenue contracted slightly to $2.53 billion, while reported net losses narrowed dramatically to $200 million as massive historical goodwill write-offs ended. Second-quarter 2026 revenue of $607 million reflected continued contraction in consumer therapy, but enterprise healthcare services held steady. Crucially, headline accounting losses are driven by non-cash amortization from past acquisitions rather than ongoing cash burn. The core business generated $225 million in trailing cash flow, though factoring in internal software spending lowers true underlying cash generation closer to $130 million. This cash cushion stabilizes the company while management reshapes operations.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
Profitability metrics reveal a dramatic split between operating units. Consolidated gross margins remain structurally high near 70%, proving that core virtual clinical consultations retain attractive underlying economics. However, operating margins diverged sharply in the second quarter of 2026: Integrated Care maintained a solid 16.5% adjusted EBITDA margin, while consumer-focused BetterHelp fell to breakeven at 0.2%. This divergence stems from inflated advertising costs in direct-to-consumer therapy, which management addressed by reducing marketing spend. Shifting therapy into in-network commercial insurance reduces member acquisition costs. As non-cash acquisition amortization rolls off and cost discipline takes hold, consolidated operating profitability is positioned to rebound gradually.
