Earnings and Revenue Trajectory
AI Review
The headline earnings figures paint a misleading picture of distress. In fiscal 2025, reported results plunged to a massive eight-billion-dollar net loss, but this was almost entirely caused by fourteen billion dollars in accounting write-downs from canceling unviable electric vehicle programs. Behind that headline, revenue held steady near 187 billion dollars, and actual operational cash flow remained remarkably resilient. Throughout 2026, underlying profitability has staged a genuine recovery as those one-time charges cleared. The commercial fleet division and hybrid pickup sales are generating dependable operating profits. While headline results can swing due to accounting adjustments, the core automotive business continues to generate substantial cash that comfortably covers ongoing operations and dividend payouts.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
Profit margins have experienced a sharp divide across different parts of the company. In 2025, consolidated operating margins sank to barely one percent because of heavy electric vehicle losses, aluminum supply shortages, and expensive warranty claims. However, this overall number concealed excellent double-digit margins within the commercial vehicle fleet division. Margins are now rebounding as electric vehicle losses shrink and supplier disruptions resolve. The commercial segment continues to command strong pricing power, while hybrid trucks earn healthy profits. As multi-year quality initiatives gradually reduce expensive recall expenses, consolidated operating profit margins are steadily climbing back toward mid-single-digit levels.
