AI Review
Texas Instruments engineered a powerful cyclical rebound in the first half of 2026, with second-quarter revenue reaching $5.46 billion, a 22.8% year-over-year surge. Net income rose 52.9% to $1.98 billion as industrial and automotive clients resumed ordering following a prolonged destocking phase. Operating leverage drove broad-based gains across the catalog. However, headlines overstate underlying organic progress. Trailing twelve-month free cash flow of $5.36 billion was substantially aided by non-recurring federal subsidies and tax credits. While business fundamentals are strengthening, recurring earnings must now expand rapidly to justify current share valuations as government cash incentives taper.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
Profitability margins have staged an impressive recovery from cyclical lows. Second-quarter 2026 gross margin reached 61.4%, up from 57.0% in 2025, while operating margin rebounded to 42.3%. As factory utilization rates improved, incremental revenue flowed through to the bottom line at a potent seventy-five to eighty-five percent rate. Despite this operational bounce, structural barriers prevent an immediate return to historical peak gross margins near 69%. Over $2.00 billion in annual fixed fab depreciation charges and aggressive mature-node price competition in Asia establish a realistic ceiling. Operating profitability should stabilize in the low-to-mid forty percent range.
