Earnings and Revenue Trajectory
AI Review
SoundHound AI presents a conflicting financial picture where rapid top-line growth masks deep operational losses. Fiscal 2025 revenue surged nearly 100% to $169 million, climbing to $203 million over the trailing twelve months ended June 2026. However, this growth has been driven largely by acquiring outside businesses rather than pure organic expansion. Behind the revenue headlines, actual operations remain deeply unprofitable, generating an operating loss of $182 million and negative free cash flow of $118 million over the trailing twelve months. Intermittent reported GAAP net profits were merely non-cash accounting adjustments related to acquisition liabilities, concealing ongoing cash drain that requires constant outside funding.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
The company's profit margins have suffered severe deterioration as business scale expanded. GAAP gross margins collapsed from a lucrative 75.4% in fiscal 2023 to 42.4% in 2025, settling near 45.1% in the second quarter of 2026. This structural margin decay was caused by absorbing lower-margin IT help desk services and customer support labor from acquired entities, alongside expensive cloud computing fees required to run artificial intelligence models. Until the revenue mix shifts back toward pure software royalties, high operating costs will continue to outstrip gross profits, delaying sustainable profitability.
