Earnings and Revenue Trajectory
AI Review
The financial trajectory shows an encouraging operational turnaround that is partially flattered by temporary accounting items. Trailing twelve-month revenue reached $5.88 billion through mid-2026, advancing 27% in the latest quarter as new vehicle deliveries began. Crucially, full-year gross margin turned positive to +2.67% in fiscal 2025 after suffering a disastrous -24.1% in 2024, demonstrating that comprehensive vehicle redesigns and supplier renegotiations are taking hold. However, headline progress conceals persistent manufacturing deficits. In the second quarter of 2026, underlying car manufacturing still generated a $36 million gross loss, with reported gross profits rescued by software joint-venture services and regulatory credit sales. Trailing operating cash flow remains deeply negative, meaning volume growth must accelerate to achieve organic financial self-sufficiency.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
Profitability metrics illustrate a structural recovery in factory unit economics, though consolidated margins remain underwater. Consolidated gross margin advanced from -45.8% in 2023 to positive territory in 2025. This turnaround was driven by simplified internal electronics, in-house motor production, and a 45% parts reduction that slashed per-unit assembly costs and reduced plant scrap rates. Nevertheless, company-wide operating margin remains negative at -66.5% due to necessary research overhead and administration. While software services boast lucrative 42% gross margins, automotive assembly must stand on its own feet. Spreading fixed plant overhead across high-volume production is the only viable path to achieve durable double-digit profit margins without government subsidies.
