Earnings and Revenue Trajectory
AI Review
The company delivered impressive top-line growth in fiscal 2026, generating $13.58 billion in revenue, up 11.7% year-over-year, while net income climbed nearly 19% to $4.83 billion. This earnings momentum was fueled by heavy investments in leading-edge logic chips and surging demand for advanced packaging inspection systems. High-margin maintenance contracts also provided dependable baseline stability. However, a closer look at the cash statement reveals a less flattering trend. Free cash flow remained virtually flat at $3.77 billion, rising under 1% as money became tied up in customer receivables and pre-shipment inventory. For the earnings expansion to remain genuine and support future share buybacks, this working capital must convert cleanly into distributable cash.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
Profitability remains among the highest in the global technology hardware sector, with gross margin reaching 61.3% and operating margin hitting 41.7% in fiscal 2026. These elite margins reflect absolute pricing power derived from proprietary inspection platforms, where chipmakers gladly pay premium prices to identify microscopic defects that would otherwise destroy entire production batches. Crucially, over a quarter of total sales now comes from high-margin maintenance services and recurring software licenses. This growing service annuity establishes a structural operating margin floor near 40%, ensuring that company profitability remains well protected against component inflation, trade tariffs, and temporary pauses in new equipment orders.
