AI Review
Top-line revenue has accelerated dramatically, surging from $15.6 million in fiscal 2024 to $114 million in 2025 and reaching $214 million over the trailing twelve months through mid-2026. This rapid growth confirms that factory shipments are increasing as automated lines come online. However, reported bottom-line results are heavily clouded by accounting noise; wild swings, such as a large paper profit followed by a steep quarterly loss, stem primarily from non-cash revaluations of warrant liabilities rather than true operating health. Beneath the headlines, operating reality remains in deep deficit. Trailing twelve-month operating losses stand at $305 million, and free cash flow burned $421 million over the same period. The business still loses money on every battery shipped because production costs exceed selling prices. Until automated factories achieve unit profitability, higher sales will continue consuming cash.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
Profitability metrics are deeply negative but showing initial directional improvement from disastrous early levels. Gross margin recovered from worse than negative 300% in 2024 to negative 126% in 2025, and improved further to negative 71% in the second quarter of 2026. This progression demonstrates that expanding factory volume is beginning to absorb fixed plant overhead and reduce unit losses. Despite this progress, manufacturing costs remain well above selling prices. Initial assembly scrap, factory startup expenses, and component costs continue to outrun revenue recognition, keeping operating margins near negative 225%. Reaching true profitability requires gross margins to cross into positive double digits, which depends completely on achieving steady-state yields on automated lines over the next two years.
