Earnings and Revenue Trajectory
AI Review
Deere's latest financial results show a business pulling out of a steep cyclical decline. After profits dropped from over ten billion dollars in 2023 to five billion dollars in 2025, recent quarterly sales stabilized, rising seven percent to 12.61 billion dollars. Full-year net earnings guidance was raised to between 4.75 and 5.00 billion dollars. However, this earnings stabilization is narrower than it appears. Growth has been powered almost entirely by construction equipment and small lawn tractors, while the core large agricultural tractor business still contracted six percent. Reported profits were also helped by one-time tariff recoveries rather than runaway tractor sales.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
Profit margins have dropped from peak levels of twenty-four percent in 2023 to around nineteen percent today. Despite sharp factory production cuts designed to clear out dealership lots, gross margins held remarkably strong at 36.5%, proving that Deere possesses exceptional pricing power over its dealer network. Nevertheless, the belief that farming software will quickly push profit margins to new records is unproven. Much of the recent margin strength in construction came from price increases rather than volume gains. Returning to record corporate profitability will require a broad-based recovery in large combine deliveries, which remains constrained by farm budgets.
