Earnings and Revenue Trajectory
AI Review
Boeing’s headline financial reports present a deceptive picture of rapid recovery. While trailing twelve-month revenue rebounded toward $94.0 billion as commercial aircraft handoffs increased, core operations continued generating an operating deficit of approximately $5.08 billion. A reported 2025 net income of $2.23 billion was heavily distorted by a $9.6 billion gain from selling digital aviation assets rather than genuine factory productivity. Beneath these accounting adjustments, underlying cash generation is staging a real but gradual turnaround. Trailing free cash flow narrowed its deficit to negative $210 million from negative $14.4 billion in 2024, turning modestly positive in the second quarter of 2026. True financial health depends on replacing one-off divestiture gains with recurring commercial delivery profits.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
Profitability margins reflect an industrial system slowly climbing out of severe distress. Consolidated gross margin recovered to positive 4.79% in 2025 after collapsing to negative 2.99% during the 2024 production pauses, yet operating margins remained negative at -6.05%. This persistent depression stems from low assembly volume, abnormal factory rework expenses, and ongoing losses on fixed-price defense contracts. The divergence between commercial manufacturing and fleet services highlights the path forward. While aircraft production operates near breakeven, commercial fleet services reliably generates operating margins above 16%. As narrowbody assembly rates rise and out-of-sequence manufacturing ceases, fixed factory overhead will dilute across more airframes, gradually restoring consolidated operating profit toward historical double-digit levels.
