AI Review
The underlying business is performing strongly, with headline figures showing steady financial progress. For fiscal 2025, group revenue reached nine point five nine billion pounds with seven percent underlying growth, while adjusted operating profit rose nine percent to three point three four billion pounds. Momentum continued into the first half of 2026 as revenue grew to four point eight seven billion pounds, spearheaded by ten percent expansion in legal analytics and eight percent in risk solutions. Headline numbers occasionally mislead because currency fluctuations and print declines mask the strength of digital software subscriptions. Electronic tools now generate eighty-four percent of total turnover, producing exceptionally high cash conversion near ninety-eight percent. Because customers prepay annual subscriptions, cash generation remains robust, dependable, and fully insulated from broader economic volatility.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
Profitability continues a decade-long expansion driven by the ongoing shift from traditional print into high-margin digital analytics. Group adjusted operating margins climbed to thirty-four point eight percent in 2025 and advanced further to thirty-five point five percent in the first half of 2026, while gross margins remained rock-solid near sixty-four percent. This widening profit spread reflects genuine operational leverage rather than temporary cost-cutting. Adding enterprise users to existing legal and fraud databases costs very little, allowing revenue gains to flow directly to the bottom line. Because premium tools save professionals valuable time, strong pricing power easily outpaces operational inflation, supporting durable long-term margin improvement.
