Earnings and Revenue Trajectory
AI Review
The company has delivered an impressive operational acceleration, driven by powerful global demand for electrical gear and power distribution equipment. Full-year 2025 revenue reached $33.2 billion with net income climbing to $4.73 billion, while trailing twelve-month revenue advanced to $36.3 billion. Operating profits were propelled by record quarterly order bookings as utilities and datacenter operators secured equipment delivery slots. Free cash flow generation reached an exceptional $4.85 billion, converting over ninety percent of reported net income into hard cash. However, the headline numbers require careful interpretation. Part of the reported profit surge reflected non-recurring real estate gains and temporary pricing lags before raw material inflation took effect. Furthermore, strong growth in electrical switchgear has masked ongoing order softness in standard factory robotics and machine automation across Europe and China.

Profitability & Margins
Margins and Operating Efficiency
AI Review
Profitability has undergone a genuine structural transformation over the past several years. Gross margin expanded from 33.0% in 2022 to over 41.0% in 2025, lifting operational EBITA margins past 20.0% in mid-2026. This expansion was achieved through dynamic value pricing, exiting low-margin engineering contracts, and cutting corporate bureaucracy under the decentralized operating system. However, profit margins are now approaching an operational ceiling. Recent regional results show that surging costs for copper and electrical steel are beginning to compress gross margins on long-term contracts. Sustaining margins above twenty percent will become increasingly difficult as raw material inflation works through the order book and Asian competitors cut prices on basic electrical components.
